Where’s The Best Place For Body Surfing Near Nyc?

I’ve been to the beaches at Babylon but I know you typically need a resident’s permit to park there and I’m not sure how else to get there. I’ve heard Far Rockaway is better for surfing and Jones beach is just too packed. Would love to know a better place and hopefully one I can get to with public transportation.

    Used to body surf in Far Rockaway ……long time ago.
    “A” train to 34th st …I think.
    Not too crowded then because there were not many concession stands
    Seemed to be fewer shells on the bottom & near shore to chew you up.in that area
    Waves come & go, have to check the weather.
