Where Is A Good Place To Go To Learn How To Surf?

I grew up in Florida and used to Boogie board, skimboard, bodysurf, and windsurf, but only tried actual sirfing twice. I live in the midwest now and want to take a week long vacation somewhere for the purpose of learning to surf. Where is a good place to go to learn? Nothing too extravagant…..

Unless you plan to go soon, this time of year you need to start looking south. Also, depends on how much you want to spend but there are some great surf schools in Florida and in Costa Rica that have both room and board plus instruction every day, and are less $$ then Hawaii. There are also quality surf schools where you can take lessons for a week, but you need to arrange your own place to stay. Check out the NSSIA.ORG website and contact some of the schools listed there.

Just about anywhere is fine. Hawaii is the original place and there are great places to visit there. Florida itself is pretty fine for surfing.. i live there and learned to surf from a private teacher. Mexico isnt a bad place and i would also suggest Costa Rica
